FAQ
We work exclusively with registered corporate entities, business enterprises, and established commercial organizations. We do not accept requests from private individuals or grant licenses for personal or non-commercial use.
Please clearly outline the specific KADOKAWA property you wish to license and the intended scope of your project.
For merchandise and physical products, please include:
- Requested Property: Name of the IP / character(s)
- Company Information: Company profile and previous IP licensing track record (if any)
- Product Details: Product name, planned description, and number of SKUs
- Pricing & Volume: Suggested Retail Price (SRP) and initial production run
- Territory & Distribution: Targeted sales territories and primary distribution/sales channels
- Schedule: Target release date or campaign launch timeframe
For digital content, promotional tie-ups, or events/LBE, please provide a comprehensive overview of the campaign concept, platform, period, target audience, and level of exposure.
Royalty rates and commercial terms vary depending on the IP, product category, and project scale.
Licensing agreements generally require a Minimum Guarantee (MG), a non-refundable advance payment against earned royalties, due upon contract execution.
For physical consumer goods, running royalties are normally calculated using the standard formula below, with total earned royalties offset against the pre-paid MG:
Earned Royalty = Suggested Retail Price (SRP) × Royalty Rate (%) × Production Volume
Specific MG amounts, payment milestones, and royalty percentages will be outlined in the commercial terms presented upon project approval.
Our creative review ensures that all localized products and promotional materials faithfully preserve the official character settings, artwork, and world-view of the IP.
Our team will review materials at every phase, including initial concept designs, color proofs, pre-production samples, packaging, order forms, and promotional campaigns. Adjustments or revisions may be requested during this process. No product may be manufactured, distributed, or announced until final creative approval is granted.
